Karen's woodcuts demonstrate her great sensitivity to the overlaying of delicate colours printed from finely cut relief plates. Often abstract in design, Karen stitches seperate printed pieces into larger compositions. This way of working allows Karen to play with relationships between forms, colour and content as she constructs each piece.

Karen completed a Bachelor of Arts from Otago Polytechnic School of Art, Dunedin and currently lives and works in Wellington.
