Mark Graver: New Prints

16 April - 16 May 2009

Mark Graver's fluid lines burst with energy as ink marks drip and flare across his work. This exhibition of new etchings showcases his large gestural, abstract works in three series; 'Nympheas' the first, is inspired by Monet's water lily paintings from the Orangerie in Paris. The subsequent 'Minerva' series pays a tribute to the goddess of arts (and wisdom), and his 'Blackbird' series celebrates the artist's memory of hearing blackbird song in the evenings as a child.

Mark is a proponent of non-toxic printmaking methods, a practicing artist and lecturer at NorthTec in Whangarei.
