An exhibition of new relief prints by Sheyne Tuffery.

Sheyne Tuffery is a Wellington based multi-media visual artist best known for the dynamic style of his prints and woodcuts. Inspired by research into his part Samoan heritage and a fascination with New Zealand's geological history, Tuffery uses his work to create and represent his own cultural context and sense of belonging.

Living on the shores of the Manukau harbour in 2005, Tuffery became interested in New Zealand's geological history as a singular landmass and natural sanctuary for a vast array of bird species including those that are now extinct, like the giant penguin. Woodcuts featured in this exhibition are filled with vibrancy and Tuffery's characteristic humour against the backdrop of Wellington's unique landscape.
